PROJECT PASS (Primary Academic Support System):
|
Aarohan’s Primary School project, PASS is now being held on the Malviya Nagar MCD School premises. Having recently been granted permission to use the premises after school hours, Aarohan now holds daily follow-up tuition classes for students of classes I to V.
With the additional space available, we hope to expand the number of students this project can absorb and possibly extend the amount of time children spend at Aarohan
Project PASS provides after-school tuition classes for primary level children who are already attending MCD schools. Children are assisted with their course-work, homework and any area where they may need additional attention and a special emphasis is laid on intensive classes in reading, writing and arithmetic.
As the majority of these children come from slum-dwelling families that live below the poverty line, Aarohan attempts to provide them with the academic and emotional support that their parents are often unable to offer.
By providing them with quality training and ensuring that they remain abreast with their school curriculum, these children feel more competent to cope with their studies and are less likely to drop-out. We are delighted to see that our classes not only assist the children with their studies but also increase their level of confidence and self-esteem.
